Sandbag Distribution

Tuesday, August 29, 2023 @ 5:45PM: All City sandbag distributions have ended due to inclement weather.

PREVIOUS INFORMATION:

In preparation for Tropical Storm Idalia, sandbags will be distributed during the following times in the Town Hall parking lot:

  • Monday, 8/28/23, from 8am-8pm
  • Tuesday, 8/29/23, from 8am-8pm

*ALL SANDBAG DISTRIBUTIONS ARE WEATHER PERMITTING*

Please bring your own shovel and proof of DeBary residency. Bags and sand will be provided. Maximum of 10 bags per household

ONLY prior to potentially dangerous storms, the City of DeBary will distribute sandbags to residents typically at City Hall (16 Colomba Road DeBary, FL 32713). 

The use of sandbags is a simple but effective way to prevent or reduce floodwater damage to your home or business. Properly filled and placed sandbags can act as a barrier to divert moving water around - instead of through - buildings. Sandbag construction does not guarantee a water-tight seal but is satisfactory for use in most situations.
