Tree removal requirements

There is an ordinance in DeBary requiring a permit for tree removal in most circumstances.  Residents hiring tree removal companies must ensure that these companies comply with the requirements in our ordinance, which can be found here. 

Please check with City Hall PRIOR to any removal, regardless of what an agent from a tree removal company may tell you.  The DeBary ordinance, which follows the Florida Statute, states that to qualify for permit-less removal, a property owner must FIRST obtain documentation (not verbal) from an arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or a Florida licensed landscape architect (not a landscape company) certifying that the tree presents a danger to persons or property.
