General Election Information

Qualifying for DeBary City Council Seats 1 and 2 was held from 12:00 Noon, Monday June 10, 2024, through 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 14, 2024.  CONGRATULATIONS to the following incumbents who qualified for their respective seats and were unopposed:

DeBary City Council Seat 2:  Jim Pappalardo

TITLE:  TERM LIMIT EXCEPTION FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS RUNNING FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR

SUMMARY:

Should the term limit requirements of Section 5.03 of the DeBary City Charter be amended to allow a City Council Member, whose second consecutive term of office would conclude at the same time as the Mayor’s term of office, to qualify and run for the office of the Mayor without remaining off the city council for at least one year?

RESUMEN:

¿Deberían modificarse los requisitos de límite de mandato de la Sección 5.03 de los Estatutos de la Ciudad de DeBary para permitir que un Concejal de la Ciudad, cuyo segundo mandato consecutivo concluiría al mismo tiempo que el mandato de Alcalde, califique y se postule para el cargo de Alcalde sin permanecer fuera del ayuntamiento al menos un año?
