PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER

The City of DeBary has an available position in its Parks and Recreation Department for a Maintenance Worker I to perform a variety of manual labor functions for park grounds and facilities maintenance including lawns, athletic facilities, foot paths, trails, roads, common areas, and park buildings. If you love the outdoor and making public spaces beautiful and enjoyable, remember, “It Starts in Parks.” Experience in groundskeeping or landscaping maintenance preferred.

Maintenance Worker I: Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or a GED, six (6) months of directly related experience in general labor using appropriate tools and equipment, and possession of a valid Florida driver license with an acceptable driving record. Minimum starting rate for this non-exempt full-time position is $16.64 - $17.44.

Maintenance Worker II: Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or a GED, 12-months of directly related experience as well as Florida Friendly Landscaping and Green Industry Best Management Practices Certifications and previous experience using appropriate tools and equipment, as well as possession of a valid Florida driver license with an acceptable driving record. Minimum starting rate for this non-exempt full-time position is $17.80 - $18.66.

Maintenance Worker III: Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or a GED, 3 years of directly related experience, Florida Friendly Landscaping,Green Industry Best Management Practices Certifications and previous experience using appropriate tools and equipment, as well as possession of a valid Florida Pesticide Certification.  Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record is also required. Minimum starting rate for this non-exempt full-time position is $19.04 - $19.97.
