HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

The City of DeBary seeks an innovative, collaborative and visionary leader to support and direct a number of strategic and operational HR initiatives. This leadership role facilitates the management and implementation of all human resources services including benefits administration, workers’ compensation, employee recruitment, retention, compensation, policies and procedures and organizational development. This position also advises managers and supervisors on employee-related issues, and facilitates personnel investigations. 

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field and five years in increasingly responsible experience in human resources management, preferably in the public sector. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered for minimum requirements. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credentials and supervisory experience are preferred.

Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain within four weeks of date of hire is required. Applicants selected for employment must pass a criminal background check. The salary for this full time position is $63,791 to $95,687 with a competitive benefits package. Salary is negotiable based upon qualifications. The City of DeBary has a 401(a) defined contribution retirement plan with ICMA-RC and does not participate in the Florida Retirement System.
