PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The City of DeBary, Florida, a family-friendly community of 19,300 situated on the St. Johns River between Daytona Beach and Orlando, is currently recruiting for a Public Works Director.

This position manages and provides direction for all activities related to the City’s stormwater drainage system and public rights-of-way as well as serves as the City of DeBary Emergency Management Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, experience in public speaking, staff supervision, and experience in the maintenance of stormwater systems. Exceptional customer service skills to promote the City as a customer-friendly environment are essential.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical field related to Civil Engineering, Public Engineering or similar and a minimum of five years progressively responsible experience are required.  Possession of related Stormwater certifications is highly desirable.
