MAINTENANCE WORKER I

The City of DeBary is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker I in the Public Works Department Right of Way Division to perform a variety of manual labor tasks and duties including mowing, trimming, cutting brush, chemical application, refuse removal, and general groundskeeping.

The ideal candidate will be able to operate/utilize a variety of equipment and hand tools associated with semi-skilled work activities. An employee in this position will be required to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions for extended periods of time. Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or a GED, six (6) months of directly related experience in general labor using appropriate tools and equipment, and possession of a valid Florida driver license with an acceptable driving record. Applicants selected for employment must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. The hourly pay range for this non-exempt full-time position is $15.85 to $17.44 with a competitive benefit package. The complete job description is available at www.debary.org.
