Growth Management Director
GROWTH MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR
The City of DeBary, Florida, a family-friendly community of 19,300 situated on the St. Johns River between Daytona Beach and Orlando, is currently recruiting for a Growth Management Director.
This position manages and provides direction for all city planning and development activities and functions and oversees all growth management operations of the city including building permits, business tax receipts, code enforcement, and zoning.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, experience in public speaking, staff supervision, land development code amendments, comprehensive planning, transportation planning, code enforcement, and development review for regulatory compliance. Exceptional customer service skills to promote the City as a customer-friendly environment are essential.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in city and regional planning or equivalent; and five to ten years related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Master’s Degree and/or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred.
Salary range is $97,326.93 - $145,990.40. The City has an excellent benefit package. Required application available at www.debary.org.
