Communications Specialist

The City of DeBary is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our Team.  Under supervision of the Community Engagement and Communications Director, the Communications Specialist serves as the first contact with the City of DeBary for citizens and local businesses; welcoming visitors, answering calls and assisting in resolving issues in the community.  Additionally, this position designs, develops and creates relevant and timely press releases, social media posts, videos, newsletters and other content designed to increase community engagement. 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs, Communications or a related field and one (1) year of relevant experience.  Previous experience in social media, graphic design, grants research and public service is desired. Salary range is $43,214.32 - $64,821.48 and is dependent upon experience. The City has an excellent benefit package, providing medical, dental, life, and disability coverages at no cost to employees with a 10% contribution to a retirement plan.
