Human Resources

The Human Resources Director provides personnel management assistance to employees, applicants, and the general public,  and serves as an "internal consultant" to all City departments.  Additionally, the Human Resource Director also:

  • Manages the hiring process and orientation of new employees
  • Responds to employee concerns during the life of their employment
  • Manages the City's pay and classification system
  • Maintains personnel records 
  • Administers the City’s compensation plan 
  • Manages employee medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits
  • Coordinates the City's retirement program
  • Oversees the City's workers' compensation program
  • Provides policy interpretation and conflict resolution
  • Facilitates employee training
  • Leads the Employee Safety Advisory and Wellness Committees, and
  • Maintains an "open door" policy
