CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
2nd Wednesdays at 6 PM
7 members & 2 alternates

The Board’s duties are to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City with the authority to impose administrative fines and other noncriminal penalties and to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing the codes and ordinances in force in the City.
 
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
3rd Thursdays at 7 PM
7 members & 1 alternate
Monthly

The City Council identifies, evaluates, and determines economic development opportunities within the City limits that are in the best interests of the citizens. The Committee’s specific responsibilities are to develop and recommend to the City Council programs to stimulate economic development, to participate in the adoption of existing codes, ordinances, and procedures to reflect economic development policies and goals.
 
HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD

Quarterly

The Board’s duties and responsibilities are to propose and recommend to City Council, financial and technical incentive programs to further the objectives of historic preservation and to educate owners of designated historic resources and the general public on the benefits of historic preservation.
 
PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
3rd Tuesdays at 6:30 PM

The Committee may explore and recommend to the City Council ways and methods of strengthening citizens’ involvement in the planning and execution of public safety programs. These programs may include, but are not limited to, the current Citizens On Patrol (COP) program offered by the County Sheriff’s Office and address other issues related to safety including sidewalk and streetlights.
 
STREETSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
2nd Tuesday at 5:30 PM
7 members & 1 alternate
 

The Committee undertakes a uniform approach to the aesthetic improvement along the City’s gateway corridors which will express a clear sense of entry and sense of place for the City, support private initiatives with public investment, and maintain the City’s small-town character.
 
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IS ENCOURAGED

Members are appointed by City Council during Council meetings.
Meetings are held at Florence K. Little Town Hall, 12 Colomba Road
