New Street Dedicated in Honor of DeBary Soldier
Teddy Rushing Street, a new street in Riviera Bella Estates was formally dedicated in honor of United States Army Private First Class Theodore Rushing of DeBary on November 18, 2016.
Rushing was killed in action in Afghanistan on Veterans Day in 2011; he was 25 years old. He served with the 10th Mountain Division, 71st Calvary, as a Forward Scout for the U.S. Army. He was awarded numerous recognitions, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, for his service to his Country.
The ceremony was attended by family and friends, Congressman John Mica, Jerome Henin of the Henin Group, city officials, the DeBary VFW Post 8093, and many others.
Teddy Rushing Street connects with Fort Florida Road and is an entrance street in Riviera Bella, a 415 home community overlooking the St. Johns River in DeBary.
