Change current live streaming service.
The current service does not have the capability of broadcasting in HD video quality and prevents the streaming from including items like power point presentations to the viewing audience. By switching to LiveStream service it will allow for high quality streaming in HD. It will allow for multiple cameras and ability to include presentations for the viewing audience that is currently on seen in the Council chambers.
The City currently uses Earth Channel for streaming services. The yearly cost for this service is approximately $7,000.00. The yearly cost for LiveStream service is approximately $2,400.00 per year, a yearly savings of about $4,600.00 when compared to the current $7,000.00 per year. The first year would have a hardware startup cost of about $3,000.00. With the startup hardware cost and streaming service the City would still be saving money by switching to Livestream service in the first year. The City can lock the price in for three years (approximately $7,200.00) making the total savings of over $10,000.00 for the first three years of the new contract when compared to staying with the current service for three years.
Funding for current streaming ($7,000.00) service is in FY17-18 Budget.
1. LiveStream - $2,388.00 year
2. DaCast - $3,510.00 year
3. Vimeo Live - $3,600.00 year
4. Earth Channel - $6,999.95 year (current streaming service)
Enter into a three year agreement with LiveStream.
