To approve a contract in the amount of $19,890.00 with Pegasus Engineering and their sub-consultant Data Transfer Solutions, LLC, to perform a city-wide sidewalk gap analysis.
The City of DeBary may enhance pedestrian safety by completing the construction of missing sidewalk gaps throughout the city. Before this can be acheived, the City must first identify the existing conditions such as where the sidewalk gaps occur and where substandard conditions exists, that fail to meet ADA standards. Once these conditions are documented, then the City can start to prioritize future pedestrian safety improvement projects based on need.
This issue was discussed during the budgeting workshops at the February 15 and March 15 Council Workshops. At these meetings, Council requested that Staff move forward with the sidewalk gap analysis and to perform it this fiscal year rather than waiting until FY 17-18.
The City Council amended the budget to cover this project on May 3, 2017.
Approve the Contract with Pegasus Engineering to initiate a sidewalk gap analysis.
